Sculptor privacy policy

Sculptor works on your device. No accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking.

Last updated . Applies to Sculptor for iPhone, iPad and Apple Vision Pro.

In short

Sculptor is made by AJA Digital (“we”), Daniel's one-person app studio. Sculptor works on your device. We don't have accounts, analytics, ads or tracking, and we don't run a server for the app, so we never receive your data.

The one exception is optional: if you choose to connect a cloud AI service with your own API key, Sculptor sends your request to that service, and only after asking you.

This page covers the Sculptor app. The website ajadigital.co has its own privacy policy.

What stays on your device

  • Your models. Projects are ordinary .sculpt files saved wherever you choose: on the device, in iCloud Drive or another Files location. Files you import or export go only where you put them or share them.
  • Your voice. When you use the microphone, speech is turned into text on your device. Sculptor never sends audio anywhere. If your device can't recognize speech on-device for your language, Sculptor tells you and you can type instead; it never falls back to a server.
  • The camera. AR uses the camera to place your model in the room. The camera feed is processed on the device and is never recorded, saved or sent.
  • Voice planning, by default. Unless you change it, your descriptions are turned into building steps on your device, by Apple's on-device model where available or by Sculptor's built-in parser. Nothing is sent.
  • Settings. Your choices (for example whether you've seen the introduction, your AI model choice and which cloud services you've allowed) are stored on the device.

Optional cloud AI (off unless you turn it on)

In ⋯ → AI Models, you can add your own API key for a supported cloud AI service, or the address of an OpenAI-compatible server you run yourself.

Checking a key

When you save a key or tap Test Connection, Sculptor asks that service for its list of models, using your key. This checks that the key works. It sends only the key, and none of your requests, scenes or files.

Asking first

Before Sculptor sends a request to a service for the first time, it asks you, and it only sends after you tap Allow.

What is sent

Each time you ask for a model with that service selected, Sculptor sends:

  • what you said or typed, as text (never the audio),
  • a short summary of your current scene: object names, shapes, sizes and positions,
  • Sculptor's planning instructions.

Never sent: audio recordings, your files or your models' meshes, your name, contacts, location or any device identifier.

Who receives it

Only the service you chose, directly from your device, using your own API key. As with any internet connection, that service also sees your device's IP address. We don't receive, see or store any of it. The service handles what it receives under its own terms and privacy policy, which Sculptor links to in the consent screen. Supported services:

Your API keys

Keys are stored in your device's Keychain, only on that device, and are sent only to the service they belong to: to check the key and list models, and with each request you allow.

Changing your mind

In AI Models → Sharing with cloud providers, tap Stop Sharing. Sculptor stops sending to that service and switches back to on-device planning. You can also delete your key there.

App Store privacy label

Because a cloud AI service you choose may keep your request text, Sculptor's App Store privacy label declares one data type, to be safe: User Content → Other User Content, used only for App Functionality, not linked to you, and not used for tracking. It applies only to the optional cloud AI requests above. With the default on-device planning, nothing leaves your device.

What we don't do

  • No accounts or sign-in.
  • No analytics, advertising or tracking, and no third-party SDKs. We don't link data to your identity, and we don't sell or share data.
  • No servers of our own for the app: there is nothing for us to keep, so nothing for us to delete.

If you contact us for support, we use your message and email address only to reply to you. Messages sent through the contact form are delivered by Netlify Forms, as described in the website privacy policy.

Children

Sculptor is rated 4+ and has no accounts, chat or sharing features. It doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The optional cloud AI requires an API key from a third-party service, which has its own age requirements.

Your choices and deleting your data

Your data lives on your device and in your own iCloud Drive. Delete a project in the Files browser, or delete the app to remove its settings and Keychain items. To remove data a cloud AI service received, use that service's own tools.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If Sculptor ever starts sending different data, it will ask you again before sending anything.
