Questions, bugs and ideas go straight to Daniel, who usually replies within a day. Please include your device, its software version, and Sculptor's version (⋯ → About Sculptor).

Getting started

  1. Tap New Model. You start with a small cube, and a few cards show you around (replay them from ⋯ → Show Onboarding).
  2. Tap + to add shapes. Drag the arrows, rings and handles to move, rotate and scale, or type exact sizes in the panel.
  3. Tap Voice and describe what you want, such as “a red mug” or “three stacked cubes”. Review the plan, then watch it build.
  4. Switch to Edit to work with vertices, edges and faces.
  5. Tap Export to save STL, 3MF, OBJ or USDZ.

Questions

Voice to Model says it's using the “Quick parser”. Why?

Sculptor plans on your device. Where Apple Intelligence is available and turned on, it uses Apple's on-device model; otherwise it uses its own built-in parser, which knows shapes, sizes, colors, positions and a set of ready-made objects (mug, table, snowman, house, tower, donut on a plate). The line under the mic tells you which one is in use and why.

The mic doesn't work.

Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone, and Speech Recognition, and allow Sculptor. Speech is only ever recognized on your device; if your device can't do that for your language, Sculptor tells you, and you can type your description instead.

What happens if I add an API key in AI Models?

Saving the key (or tapping Test Connection) only checks the key with that service and loads its list of models. None of your requests or scenes are sent until you choose that service's model and allow it in the consent screen. After that, your request (as text) and a short summary of your scene go directly from your device to that service, with your key. We receive nothing. To stop, open AI Models → Sharing with cloud providers → Stop Sharing. Details are in the privacy policy.

AR isn't available.

AR needs a device with a camera that supports ARKit world tracking, and camera permission. Without it, you can still spin the model in a 3D preview, or open it in Quick Look.

My print has problems.

Open Export and look at the print check. It lists holes, tangled edges, inside-out faces, very thin walls, and models that are too big for your plate or below it, and Fix automatically repairs most of them. Sizes are in millimeters.

How do I open an STL or OBJ file?

In Sculptor, choose ⋯ → Import STL or OBJ…. From Files or Mail, tap Share → Sculptor.

Where are my projects?

In the Files browser that opens with Sculptor, on your device or in iCloud Drive. Projects are .sculpt files you can move, rename and back up like any other file.

I made a mistake.

Undo with the arrow in the toolbar, ⌘Z on a keyboard, or a three-finger swipe. A whole voice build undoes in one step.

Privacy

Sculptor has no accounts, analytics, ads or tracking, and speech is recognized on your device only. Read the Sculptor privacy policy.
